Visitor Center Amenities

The Isle a la Cache Museum offers visitors an adventure in 18th century history, when the "Illinois Country" was home to French voyageurs and native Potawatomi. The Museum features interactive exhibits of the Great Lakes fur trade of the 1700s, in addition to a replica Native American longhouse.

The Museum also offers indoor and outdoor facility rentals for groups. Learn more about facility rentals at the Museum.

In addition, the Museum offers nature and history educational opportunities to school groups and youth groups. Learn more about educational programs in the forest preserves.

The Museum features a gift shop, where visitors can purchase replica arrowheads, Professor Noggin's card games, and books about French and Native American history. Free District publications and trail maps are also available.

The following permits are available for purchase at the Visitor Center:The Museum is open to the public free of charge.

Programs and Events

A variety of fun and educational public programs are hosted at Isle a la Cache Museum throughout the year, including historical demonstrations and campfire programs. The Museum also features the annual premier program "Island Rendezvous" in June. View upcoming programs.
